Coastal Ghosts

Often, when you go looking for sea wolves, it can feel like you’re trying to find ghosts. You find their tracks, their scat, maybe even a bed where they lay down. You hear them howl. But you can’t find them. In the tangle of the Great Bear Rainforest, there are plenty of places for a wolf to disappear.

So it is always a great moment when a wolf lies down in front of you and settles in to see what you’re up to. And sometimes there are happy photographic accidents that capture something of the ghost-like nature of these animals.
