The pandemic has affected everyone. For us, it has meant that we have cancelled all our 2020 wolf expeditions and spirit bear tours.
Leading these trips is a living for Marven Robinson and me, but it is much more than that; it is a big part of our way of life. I am dearly going to miss the rainforest and witnessing the next chapter in the lives of the bears and wolves I’ve come to know over the years. I will also miss spending time with friends and the chance to facilitate experiences for people that leave them breathless and make their eyes sparkle. Just look at the joy on the face of Nancy Alexander in the photo below. Yeah, I’m gonna miss those moments.
So, it has all been a tough pill to swallow that has simultaneously created a new set of challenges and uncertainties that are not going away any time soon. But the wildlife of the Great Bear Rainforest are still out there – peacefully unaware of all the chaos swirling around in the lives of people. Perhaps they are simply enjoying the fact that there are a whole lot less of us snooping around in their homes these days.
